The first hawk has fledged!

It was spotted flying straight over Avenue A at about 10:10am EST. Christo is keering non-stop. More info to come as we try to locate it.

Coolest Hawk Chalk ever

Exit9, a local gift emporium on Avenue A (also under the nest) has hawk mania too! Check out this gorgeous chalk drawing at the entrance to their store:

At 2:15pm EST:

Middle sibling squeaks with anticipation over a food delivery from Dad.

At 6:03pm EST, a young hawk literally climbs the walls…err…screen…as Mom looks on. #fledgewatch in full effect

The hawks track their parents flying above and one of them keers like an adult for the first time!

1pm feeding.

At the feedings lately: one of the parents drops off food, lets the young hawks at it for a while, then Dora comes in to help parse out the rest.

These feedings usually include shrieks, tug-of-wars, and stealing.  With their rapid rate of growth, it’s not surprising how ravenous the young hawks are.
