Webcam pic of East Village Red-tailed hawk (Dora) feeding her young ones!

Parents Christo and Dora Red-tail are pleased to announce the birth of their three yet-to-be-named-and-yet-to-be-gender-determined hawklets. The babies arrived some time between May 1st and May 3rd. Christo and Dora are overjoyed with their very dominant one, their runt, and the middle one too.
Registered at: Bird, Bath & Beyond, Bird-dorf Goodman, and Tiffany’s.
Some items on the registry include: Rat, rat, rat, pigeon, brown rat, large rat, small rat, and twigs.

The first of three eggs was laid 37 days ago. Recently, Christo has been bringing in many East village rats for Dora to swallow whole (he is kind enough to remove the head for her first). Dora is rolling the eggs like it’s going out of style. She has not been taking her normal daily wing stretch. They both watch, waiting, waiting, rolling, watching.

Sod off.

It’s been hard to get a shot of Dora and Christo together lately. Dora’s been endlessly vigilant on the nest while Christo is out and about. The only interactions they’ve had have been quick swap outs for egg incubation and snack drop-off. Christo also has been keeping another raptor at bay today.
